Mission
To provide broad ranges of information, resources, and materials to satisfy students educational, cultural, and leisure-time interest regardless of their location, social and physical condition, or level of intellectual achievements.
Vision
The Library will be recognized as an accessible and exceptional center of research, learning, and creativity focused on student success. We will provide the best of contemporary and traditional research tools, unique local resources, and state of the art facilities to the students of American Samoa and work to ensure that all its members are proficient information users. We will be leaders in developing and utilizing the talents of everyone who works in the library services division to achieve excellence in service to students and to our community.
What We Do
The Division of School Libraries and Resources is one of the instructional support services for all the schools. We set up school libraries, and order both hard copies and electronic books for K5-12 students. Our office trains all staff with library and related skills to support the school increase student achievement.
We provide services for students, teachers, and sub-divisions within ASDOE, and with enough resources for the public. Our services include printing copies, lamination, bookbinding, audiovisual products, and related school/office supplies. Since we were relocated, our services are limited. Therefore, if you need our support, we ask you to bring in your request(s) one week ahead of time. This will be the case until we get our own office space to operate at full capacity.
TEACHER CERTIFICATION
In collaboration with Teacher Quality, Library Services is happy to provide a way for all our teachers to access the books they need during their journey to complete certification.
