School Lunch Program
The American Samoa School Lunch Program's mission is to provide safe, healthy, well-balanced, and affordable meals to all the children under the School Lunch Program.
ASDOE SLP plays an important role in developing food literacy through increased purchase and
use of locally grown seasonal products and development opportunities in local produce. ASDOE SLP also incorporates locally made, fresh, whole-grain bread into the menu. The vision, goals, and principles of the ASDOE SLP provide a framework within the School Meals Program to ensure that school meals are part of the total school wellness environment. We have outlined steps to be taken to improve the health of students and their readiness to learn in the classrooms. ASDOE SLP has implemented policies to include School Wellness, Food, and Nutrition
